Classified as a "Grand site du Val de Loire", Brézé is an unusual castle in France. Attested since 1063, it has the particularity to have a huge underground fortress.

Built between the 11th and 19th centuries, the castle of Brézé has an extraordinary underground network. You will discover the ancient seigniorial residence and its stables, a covered way, a drawbridge, a silkworm farm, kitchens, cellars, immense wine presses; the whole opening on the deepest dry moat in Europe. The private apartments of the Colbert family are also worth a visit, with the dining room housing a magnificent collection of weapons as well as the bedrooms of the Marquis and Marquise de Dreux-Brézé.
