Nestled on the edge of the upper Essonne valley, on the border between the Beauce and the Gâtinais de l'Ouest, Dimancheville, whose name etymologically means "the master's house", is the smallest commune in the canton of Puiseaux. It nevertheless has a heritage full of interest with its church which, under the guise of a modest country sanctuary, shelters unsuspected treasures, remarkably restored and enhanced: a very beautiful frame at the end of the XVth-XVIth century, an exceptional set of mural paintings including a XIIIth century fresco representing the Last Supper, frescoes a little later above the high altar, the painted decoration of the two wooden doors from the XVIIth century, painted panelling in faux marble also from the XVIIth century, quality furniture, partly dated from the
