In the centre of this village which dominates the Essonne at what was a crossroads of the Roman roads from Sens to Chartres and from Orléans to Reims, the church is an imposing mass.
The monument is visibly made up of two parts: the nave, narrow and low, dates from the 11th century. Two centuries later, with the evolution of spirituality, a larger choir was desired.
