CHAPEL DE LA OULTRE In the Faubourg St Vincent on the other bank of the Madon, there is a modest and pretty chapel, the only church in the town until the 14th century, called "La Oultre". Its construction dates from the 11th to the 16th century. It is classified as a historical monument (1892). + Door surmounted by a "flamboyant tympanum", rich architectural ornament + Choir and chapels - Transept (1426). + The northern arm of the transept was a seigneurial chapel; we can see the tombstones of the founders: Jehan and Nicolas des Piliers. Many remarkable pieces: LEFT: + St Nicolas (17th century). + On the side wall of the nave, a painting of the "Immaculate Conception" by Dominique Prot, Nancy 1664 (M.H. 1967). One can see: St Michael, St Gabriel, St Joseph, St Augustine, St Nicolas and St Pierre Fourier. RIGHT: +"Pieta" in polychrome stone (16th century). + At the pillar "Christ" in carved wood from the 16th century (M.H. 1982). + In the Chapel, "Virgin" in gilded wood. The altar is surmounted by 13 arcatures where Christ and the 12 Apostles were painted, in a frame of flowers and leaves of a remarkable finesse.
