Thanks to the French Federation of Hiking and to Xertigny en transition for the realization of this hike and the work done by its teams throughout the year to mark and maintain these paths. Markings: yellow rectangle n°13 This 10 km circuit encompasses the Aître valley, once lined with mills, by traversing the two panoramic crests that dominate it and the two hamlets of Amerey and Moyenpal. Departure in front of the school of Amerey : Go west for about 100m and then take the Chemin de la Rappe which climbs to the left. The road quickly turns into a dirt track and continues for 800m to reach the altitude point 430 under the power line (1). Turn right onto the plateau road which dominates the valley then 500m before the village of La Chapelle aux Bois leave the road for the path (2) which turns right until you reach the road (3) which descends to the Void de la Bure at the level of the Aître stream (4). Cross the departmental road to go up the côte des Marchands after a small hook on the right. At the top of the hill (5) take the crest path on the right to Moyenpal passing on the right of the Caravelle (6). Arrived at the center ''le Haut de Moyenpal'' at the Calvary (7) go down the road on the right until you reach the hamlet of Amerey up to the starting point. Points of interest : - The Aître (4) has its source in the Beaudoin woods and runs 10 km before flowing into the Coney river in Rasey. Its driving force has been used by nearly ten mills for milling, sawmill, starch factory or forge. - (7) Haut de Moyenpal: 1712 farmhouse with double dwelling, common barn (see Lorraine cross on the cart door), adjoining oven room. To be seen, the ''Palis'' at the crossroads (stone fences) - Between points (2) and (3) at Hill 430 (la Chapelle aux Bois), take the time to appreciate the view. - Butcher's Cross: by a small deviation (8) it is possible to reach this stele situated on the edge of the forest which recalls the circumstances of the death of Constant Breton, butcher in Bains, having got lost in a snowstorm at this place.
