Notre-Dame de Plombières or Notre-Dame des Eaux, has been protecting Plombières since 1855. Legend has it that thanks to their devotion, the people of Plombières were spared the two cholera epidemics between 1831 and 1874. The statue, made of cast iron, was sculpted by Fabish from Lyon, who was also responsible for Notre-Dame de Fourvière. Since its installation, every August 15, a procession takes place in plumbers, torch in hand.
