At the junction, turn left leaving the path on the right. Continue your ascent in the pine forest. You are on the Road of Peace and Freedom which passes by the Borne 6. On the right, observe some blocks of Vosges sandstone with pudding (conglomerate). When you arrive on the flat path, turn left twice. At La Roche des Corbeaux (alt 701 m), very beautiful viewpoint on the basin of Corcieux and the Blue Line of the Vosges. Continue on the path until the next path that you take on the left. Between pines, firs and larches, stop at the Pierre de la Guillotine. The slightly downhill path brings you to the crossroads of Trapin des Saules (alt 649 m) where you take on the left an unmarked path that you follow for 500 m. Turn sharply left to get to the Roche des Fées (alt 678 m) located 400 m away. Beautiful view of the basin of Corcieux with, in the background, the Hohneck (recognizable with its inn at the top) and the village of La Houssière dominated by the 3 Monts (Thiriville, Moyennel and Cours Moinel). Return to point 5 where you continue straight on the path going down to Borne 6 (alt 644 m). Take the path in front of the monument in the direction of La Houssière up to the crossroads of the Route Forestière de Noiregoutte which you will take on the left. Continue straight ahead, ignoring the one that goes up on the left. As you approach the village of Vanémont, after a small square cleared for forestry work, leave the markings and take the small unmarked path on the left, leaving the one that climbs steeply. At the first houses, turn left on the Chemin du Globe to get back to the starting point 50 m away. To be seen: BORNE 6 - OCTOBER 1944 FIGHTING : The 1st Battalion of the 141st US Infantry Regiment being surrounded by the German army, the 442nd Regiment, composed of Hawaiian soldiers, came to the aid of this "Lost Battalion" and suffered very heavy losses. This battle is considered one of the top 10 battles in the history of the United States. Hawaii will become the fiftieth star of the United States. THE GUILLOTINE STONE : Made of Vosges sandstone, this cupula is due to the mechanical and chemical erosion of rainwater. A legend tells that any brigand captured in the region had his head cut off here. It is even said that it would have been used by the druids to consume human sacrifices. The name "Pierre de la Guillotine" dates back to the Revolution.
