CIRCUIT DU RUDLIN AU GAZON DU FAING

Duration: 3H30 - Distance: 12 km -: Difference in altitude: 600 m uphill Red and blue markings This beautiful hike is one of the most picturesque in the Haute-Meurthe region. You will be able to discover a variety of ever-changing landscapes, from the valley to the high altitude stubble, alternating between water, mineral and vegetal. Departure Plainfaing, direction Le Valtin (CD23) to the place called "Le Rudlin". Turn left before the bridge, park near the pond and take the path on the right towards the old inn, then the small path before the inn which goes up to the waterfall. Continue on the red path and continue until you reach the Route des Crêtes : Cross the road and go to the Roche des Fées, then to the Gazon du Faing hostel where you can eat. Then take the path on the left after the inn leading to the Hautes-Chaumes (orientation table at 1306 m, erected by the Syndicat d'Initiative de Plainfaing) magnificent view of the Lac des Truites, Le Hohneck, La Plaine d'Alsace. Drive along the Faing Grass Nature Reserve with a superb view of the Lac Blanc. For the descent, follow the path on the left, cross the Route des Crêtes and go down the path almost opposite, turn left at the crow's-foot, you follow a small torrent allowing you to quench your thirst. Cross the bridge and go down by the path of the Ruhloch (blue triangle) which brings you back to your starting point.
