CIRCUIT DU GROSSWALD

An information panel on the circuit is set up at the start of the hike. Follow the signs with a red ring in both directions to find your way. This trail takes you through the 90 hectares of oak and beech forests of the Grosswald woods. You'll enjoy the calm and shade provided by the plant cover. Open your eyes wide: the forest is full of surprises. The Grosswald Gallo-Roman villa is a little treasure hidden among the trees. It's one of the many villas or farms representative of northeastern Gaul and Germania that criss-crossed the territory of the small town of Bliesbruck. It was the center of a farming operation. Discovered in 1966, the villa was excavated until 1982, then consolidated and restored. The baths were fitted with a protective cover and the underfloor heating room was rebuilt. Take the opportunity to take a picnic break as you wind your way along the path, against the backdrop of this natural setting combining old stone and vegetation.
