A work of art that calls out on the banks of the Loire in the Petite Cité de Caractère of Saint-Florent-le-Vieil in the Mauges in Anjou

Artist : Arnaud Kasper Date création/Creation time : 2016 Matériaux/Materials : Chateaupanne limestone and paint Description: Influenced by graffiti which has its origins in antiquity, this work is inspired by street art. The artist chose one of the pillars of the bridge, which has always been used as a support for messages and various inscriptions from the youth of Montjean-sur-Loire. Adding to the messages of love, the fish man is stylized in a graphic way. Small characters at the foot of the fresco give a scale of size similar to that of the bridge crossing the Loire. The fish-man becomes an architectural and totemic symbol. Presentation of the artist and his approach: The artistic approach of Arnaud Kasper, born in Paris in 1962, begins with painting which he practices in a workshop orchestrated by Arno Stern. Thereafter, Arnaud Kasper trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Appliqués et Métiers d?Art, then in direct stone cutting. Sensitive to the problems linked to the environment, the artist realizes notably animal works. The sculptor is also inspired by femininity, to which he pays tribute through his work.
