Presentation of the artist and his approach: Christophe Batardière began his career as a sculptor-designer at the age of 30. He creates sculptures in metal and stainless steel. His approach is close to that of a fashion designer, with a technical and sophisticated approach to production. His works are odes to nature, to its diversity and complexity. In parallel to his animal sculptures and anthropomorphic masks, he is evolving towards more monumental works. Description : A DRAGONFLY (stainless steel and blown glass)To the artist, this sculpture primarily consisted in seeking lightness and delicacy. Settled on a branch and showing its lace wings, the dragonfly is coming to life at the slightest breeze. The deep blue glass-paste eyes are like two sapphires lighting up as the sun shines.
