This ignores the fact that Vivaldi also composed "sacred" concertos and sonatas, instrumental works inspired by and conceived for liturgical use: such are his concerts for solemnities, for solo organ and his "Sepulchres", introductions to the Paschal mystery made of dense, suspended harmonies. This is a Vivaldi still to be discovered, and the guest of honor at this 37th Festival will be excelling in guiding us in this discovery.
