BALCON DES PYRENEES EN VTT

Mountain bike route of 60 km starting from the base VTT les Tuileries in Simorre. Markings n° 1 black Cross the river Gimone behind the campsite (follow the black markings N°1) Follow the river to the Larrouy wood in St Elix d'Astarac As you cross the wood you will see the "Kazé" ("wind" in Japanese) which looks like a tornado held in balance Cross the D12, continue until you reach the tarmac road to Saramon At the end of the wood, go down to the Lauze valley which you follow for a few kilometres. Cross the river and go up towards Moncaut: you have a magnificent view of the Faget Abbatial, one of the oldest abbeys in Gascony Continuing your way, you pass by a beautifully restored windmill to descend to Lamaguère where you can see the ruins of the 12th century castle Join the Aguin wood, go down to Lambert over the Arrats valley and climb to Le Plan. Cross the wood, go back down to the Arrats valley and walk up to Sére Following the black markings N°1, you arrive at Monties and admire the magnificent landscape. Join Monbardon, cross the D12 and the river Gimone and take the path of the poutche which will lead you to the mill of Gaujan Direction the D12, take the poutche direction Villefranche which you follow by a dirt track Cross the river again and take the path which leads you to the work "Yané" ("roof" in Japanese) Take the path, at the end of the hill turn right: the ridge path offers you one of the most beautiful views of the countryside and the Pyrenees mountain range By following the black markings N°1, you arrive at the Higués wood which you cross. Go up to Gruos and then down to the D129. Pass the Riou Perrin (small stream) You continue by the path of embayle and Rajogats (high paleontological place) to arrive at the mill of Loriot The last very beautiful but very fast descent "du coucassé" will bring you back to the stadium.
