AU DUCHE DE LORRAINE SALON DE THE CONFISERIE LEFEVRE-LEMOINE

France > Grand Est > Meurthe-et-Moselle > 54000 > Nancy > 47 Rue Henri Poincaré

Facing the Thiers train station and the L'Excelsior Art Nouveau brasserie, this tearoom, with its listed furniture, was inaugurated by Georges Lefèvre and his wife in 1933 in the tradition of the tearooms of yesteryear. It has preserved a rare, cosy, typically Lorraine charm, smelling of chocolate, gingerbread and bergamot. Taste the unique ambience of the place for a few moments, and sample the House's specialties: sablés, pains d'anis, gâteaux des Ducs de Lorraine, Visitandines de Nancy, Macarons, pains d'épices, Sicilians, Roméos, and other cookies... The macaroons were voted "coup de c?ur" by the Gault&Millau jury in 2021. Stepping through the door of Confiserie Au Duché de Lorraine to enjoy an old-fashioned hot chocolate is also an opportunity to meet Nancy's oldest confectionery dynasty, the Lefèvre-Lemoine family. Since 1840, this family has been at the origin of Nancy's greatest sweet specialties through its founder Antoine Lefèvre-Denise, whose brother invented LU cookies in Nantes. His great-grandfather, Louis Lefèvre-Denise, registered the Bergamottes de Nancy trademark in 1898. Activities are organized during the European Heritage Days.
