These marly hillsides north of Nancy are home to relatively dense lawns and areas of trees evolving spontaneously towards the deciduous forest. The traces of various human activities are clearly visible: small quarries, old pastures, a receptive antenna and power lines. Some saplings and trenches remain, witnesses of past wars. The site is protected by the Conservatoire des Sites Lorrains and belongs to the commune of Jeandelaincourt. The Mont Saint Jean site is equipped with educational panels A 5 kilometre long hiking trail allows you to discover the site as a whole and offers a breathtaking view of the village and the countryside below. The limestone lawn, which occupies most of the site, has a diverse wild flora Mont Saint-Jean has old military saps from the 1st World War. Dug into the karst, they constitute an underground environment conducive to the hibernation of bats.
