CALVAIRE DE LA LOUVE

Called "Croix de la Louve" or "Calvary of the Mill of Boler", this calvary was erected in 1713 by François Lapierre. Legend has it that Pierre and Madeleine, a couple returning from the cemetery because they had just lost their son, were attacked by a wolf. But the couple was defended by an army of ravens that threw themselves on the animal and gouged out its eyes. The wolf then fled and in thanksgiving for this miracle, the couple built this Calvary (Bildstock). Each of the sides has a decoration that will surely interest you.
