D'UN BORD À L'AUTRE DU MASSIF CENTRAL - PAYSAGES DU MORVAN ET DE LA MARGERIDE -  CHEP CHARLES

The Tourist Information Office in Saint-Alban-sur-Limagnole is pleased to welcome the exhibition "D'un bord à l'autre du Massif Central - Paysages du Morvan et de la Margeride" by CHEP Charles from Saturday June 1 to Friday June 28. Charles E. Chep was born on May 6, 1962, to a sculptor-stone mason father and a literature teacher mother. From an early age, he drew anything and everything. His father tried his best to channel this somewhat unbridled creative energy, but it was his frequentation of art books first, and then of museums, that definitively arrested his vocation. Trained in the essentials of drawing by his father, it was as a purely self-taught artist that he took up painting. In 1975, he decided to become a real painter. In 1977, he gave himself the means to do so. From the age of 16, he took part in various group exhibitions. From then on, he was involved in a number of experimental trends. Figurative first and foremost, he eventually settled on landscape and color as his true interests. Since the early 2000s, he has tried to articulate color and light in the same dynamic. He is currently seeking a kind of synthesis of the various, more or less contradictory, trends through which he has passed. He has exhibited in Paris, La Rochelle, Dijon, Nevers, Clermont-Ferrand and Châteauneuf-sur-Charente, and participated in the Salon des Artistes Français and the Salon des Indépendants in Paris. He lives and works in St-Honoré-Les-Bains (Nièvre). To meet the artist, we invite you to attend the exhibition preview on Tuesday June 4 at 6pm, where you will be invited to join us for a drink.
