Karine Leroy was born on November 27, 1969 in Paris, but her childhood home adjoined the botanical garden at Montigny-lès-Metz, giving her a heightened sensitivity to nature. Although her desire to defend causes led her to become a lawyer, her many passions caught up with her over the years. Painting in particular is nothing other than a means of examining ecology in a subtle and profound way, attempting to magnify it, reinterpret it and, where appropriate, highlight the harmful effects of human activity on the environment. In other words, through painting, the artist is now attempting to defend the cause of ecology by highlighting both the beauty and fragility of nature?
