This woman's head on the edge of the Loire represents the bride in waiting. It is in correspondence with another work of the artist elaborated along the St. Lawrence, "Oeillée vers le large". Presentation of the artist and his approach: Gérard Thériault, born in 1939 in Gaspésie (Quebec), studied at the École du Meuble and then at the Beaux-arts de Montréal. In the 1960s, he settled in Baie-Saint-Paul, where he built his house and practiced his art exclusively. The artist sculptor realizes works in wood, stone and steel. Possessing a taste for monumental sculptures, his works are mostly in the form of human figures. Presentation of the artist and his/her approach : Gérard Thériault was born in Gaspésie (Quebec) in 1939. He attended Montreal School of Furniture, then the Art School. In the sixties, he settled in Baie-Saint-Paul where he built his house and devoted himself fully to his art. The artist works wood, stone and steel. As he is particularly interested in monumental sculpture, his carvings represent mostly human characters.
